August 10th, 1998 (DAY 4)

Today is the day, that we land with both our feet on the ground.

The day starts quite funny actually:
When I get out of the bathroom and Lotje AGAIN in. (women!!), I heard someone call in front of our window downstairs. It was some kind of a cheese vender, that came to bring a delivery. He yelled that the doors were all locked and that no one was there...so, I put my shoes on and ran down the stairs, the entrance to the garden: doors locked, front door: locked... fortunately I could get a door open and there I was, in front of the cheese vender with a big iron gate between us: locked again.
What on earth was going in? It was 9.00am in the morning! Where is everyone? Why are we locked up!!
The cheese vender INSISTED on handing over the cheese, so he squashed it through the fence and ran off.

Supposedly in GREAT panic, I ran back to our room and told Lotje we were all locked up..but in fact I thought it was rather neat! Both of us went downstairs again and settled into the chairs in the garden, there was nothing we could do but wait! But 10 minutes later, Bruna's beaming head stuck through the fence. Great way to start a day! ;-) After her came our Maitre d'hôtel and his wife, they had all gone shopping in Limoux and for some reason forgot to tell us.
A while later, the three of us were having breakfast, Lotje and I were terribly annoyed by how RUDE Bruna was to our hosts, and to everyone that was in service
She had only just settled down on her chair, and I could already hear the annoying Italian accent calling
"MADAME!!!! My coffee please!"
knowing perfectly well that the coffee was on its way.
I guess it becomes rather obvious that we sort of had ENOUGH of Bruna already, and our hostess apparently thought the same thing after her cynical yet sharp yell back to her.
