August 13th, 1998 (DAY 7 Con't)

We had not the faintest idea of what the source of the sound might have been, but we were at least BOTH certain that we had seen something flying over our heads. 3 times!
We had both the impression that we saw the "something" landing right behind Lotje's night table.
(Yeah, the place where the bad guys are always hiding)
Courageously I moved into the direction of the night table and gave it a careful push.
Nothing happened.
When Lotje does HER PART of being courageous, she simply looks behind the night table.
(From a SAFE distance of course: in fact she was almost in the closet on the opposite wall ;-)
"There!" I get to hear. "What is it???" I yell '' I don't know! It's about 15cm (6 inches) long and has wings of the same length, spread to the side!"
"Looks like the description of a dragon!" I say. "Jesus!" Quickly I jump into my clothes and go take a look.(Its just not very ethical to chase monsters in your room, only half dressed!) I got some kind of a phobia concerning insects, so before I take a look I expect to see the worse... the result:

A gigantic LIBELLE (Dragon Fly) with a size I've NEVER seen before in my entire life, is quietly sitting on the side of the night table. "Great! What are we supposed to do now?" Both of us feel like complete fools, since we already cooked up the wildest stories about evil supernatural forces flying in our room, nevertheless.. I’m not very fond of insects, so we both decide to do our "circuit bedroom - terrace Villa Bethania" again, to inform with our waitress about the insect in question.

"Ah! Mais c'est une libellule!" She said. "Vous ne devez pas avoir peur! Ca ne piçue ou ça ne mange pas!" (You don't have to be afraid! It won't sting or bite you!) And so, a while later the waitress and our two "love objects" (Lotje's and mine) are happily laughing in the kitchen of the Villa Bethania.

So far this last days EXCITING events... well, well... The rest of the day passed rather boring: eat, drink, pack, a last walk in the village and eventually sleep. good night!
