The story:
In his first adventure -Gabriel Knight, Sins of the Fathers- we meet Gabriel Knight, a New Orleanean native novelist/bookshop owner who barely has the income to feed himself. He and his assistant Grace run the bookshop, which has the delightful name of St. George's Books.

Lately, Gabriel has been waking up every night from the same mysterious nightmare, and he can't seem to put his finger on what it means. As he continues his work on a novel he is writing about the grusome "Voodoo Murders" that have been plaguing New Orleans, he starts to learn that these murders somehow tie into his family history.

Continuing his investigation, he soon discovers that his family line was based over in Germany, and that there is a legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation. He learns that he, being the last living descendant of this family line, must take the responsibility of this legacy, this sort of "supernatural policeman." He goes over to the family castle in Rittersburg, Bavaria to find out more of this legacy.

Not long after he arrives in Rittersburg, he starts learning more of his ancestory, and also of a Voodoo cult that the family had dealt with before. Gabriel decides to find out more about this, and what he learns... well I can't tell you what he learns, I dont want to give the whole story away!

Gabriel Knight, Sins of The Fathers, being the base of the whole series, is one game that you simply can not pass up! It's hand-painted backgrounds and cut-scenes are almost too good to be true. GK1 also has spectacular voicing, by actors such as:

  • Tim Curry as Gabriel Knight

  • Mark Hamill as Detective Mosely
  • plus many more!
