January 25th 1999 One: It happened during the reign of James the First of England who was also James the VI of Scotland. Why do the Stuarts claim to be kings of Scotland when James and his descendants lived? There obviously must be some backstory involving how James assumed the throne and disinherited the Stuarts (which I imagine will be covered in GK3). James was personally responsible for capturing the family of Sawney Beane. Could there be some possible tie-in to this portion of the GK mythos and this event in England's history? Two: There are conflicting reports of when Sawney Beane was born. I don't know why this is, other than the vagaries of urban legend, but if he was still alive in the seventeenth century, then he had to have been born in the late sixteenth century. But some of the sites I have visited claim he was born in the 14th century. The 1300's. The century that the Templars were exterminated and the Order of the Garter established. If Sawney Beane was alive still in the seventeenth century, then what manner of creature was he?
Three: when the Beanes were captured, it was assumed that they were all
hidden in the cave, and thus all captured. What if this wasn't the case?
What if one or two of the children had hidden further down the beach (the
search ended when they discovered the cave)? What if they are still alive,
or their descendants are at least? Gabe and Grace to the rescue!"

Curiously as with the journal of Gunter Ritter that Werner
had sent to New Orleans, handwritten entries were in english. Could
the family have originated in the Green Isles? Their patron saint,
St. George, was England's own. Such a history was undoubtedly in
these journals somewhere, but she'd have to take one mystery at a
time.
January 17th 1999 FYI, there're some great stories from England about the discovery of such cave lairs with bodies (in real life) and even a story about a boy finding a very odd looking 'wolf's skull' in one and the skull haunting the boy and his family until they took it back to the lair! These stories were the source of the lair in GK2 because they *really* creeped me out. If these lairs have been really been found, as the stories seem to say, and these aren't just 'urban legends' then what could explain them? Serial killers? Or wild animals of some kinds? Werewolves?

"I started thinking about those ghosts/spirits and the setting in England. I couldn't help thinking about that Robin Hood game of Sierra: Conquests of the Longbow. It is also set in England and it does contain spirits at some point in the game. Spirits like: Spirits in forests and in ponds.. Those spirits are often spirits of dead people who died in the pond. Also the trees and plants of a forest should contain spirits of people long dead and watch over the forest, or so the legend says. I don't know if this means anything, but it could..." Just to read back on the stuff they were saying before, I went over the Schattenjager Diaries. In Issue 5, when Jane is asked what CDs she listens to lately, she responds "Civil War folk songs from my trip to Gettysburg". Could it be that Gabriel and Grace are going back stateside for their next adventure? Speculation speculation..." I still want to hear any ideas or speculation in the area though, so we'll just start putting it under GK4." (Christy) December 1, 1998 "I picture something like the web interaction that the game Spycraft had. Basically, there were links to some government sites and some sites specific to the game, but nothing was essential to completing the game. I guess you could connect with Sidney to web pages about Vampires, alchemy, the Templars, etc. just as a novelty. I can't see the game demanding that all players have Internet, and making Internet necessary to the game.
But then again, I'm not nearly as creative as Jane."
