FRANKLIN MOSELY (David A. Thomas)
Mosely is from the New Orleans Police Department and is an old friend of Gabriel's. Mosely just happens to be staying at the same hotel, having come on a 'treasure hunt' vacation package. "It sounded like a lark," he says, but his behavior is decidedly strange. He keeps disappearing, for one thing. For another, he seems a little too interested in Gabriel's case. Mosely further bewilders by insisting that Gabriel not let anyone on the tour know that he's a cop which, to Gabriel's thinking, is the only remotely interesting thing about him. Why does Gabriel get the feeling he's not really as 'off-duty' as he claims?
